Announcing the world premiere of EVER in Melbourne Festival 6 - 21 October 2017

27/07/17

EVER presented by Phillip Adams BalletLab in association with Melbourne Festival

We're thrilled to announce the world premiere of EVER, BalletLab's latest major work and very first to be performed at our new home and performance space, Temperance Hall, part of the 2017 Melbourne Festival 6 - 21 Oct, 2017.

Set to the iconic masterworks John Adams Shaker Loops (1978) and Richard Strauss' Metamorphosen (1945), EVER reflects 30 years of Artistic Director Phillip Adams' devotion to choreographic practice where he has developed a way of thinking about dance that comes directly out of experimentation with choreography and visual arts. In EVER, Adams invites audiences to experience the work as both listener and viewer in a collaboration rife with his relentless dreamy and visual mischief, pure sophisticated choreography and oddities that convey the restlessness he works with.

Performed by six extraordinary Melbourne dancers, EVER creates an everlasting cycle of loops and oscillating ecstatic rhythms, investigating themes of permutation, transformation and the infinite. Following a lengthy history of unorthodox collaborations EVER also features designs by fashion icon Akira Isogawa and set and light design from Matthew Adey. Together, they collaborate with Adams’ on his sublimely modernist interpretation, which glides across the music.

Don't miss this historic moment for PABL and the Temperance Hall. To book tickets click HERE.

EVER is presented with the generous support of the Australia Council for the ArtsCreative VictoriaCity of Port Phillip Cultural Development Fund and The Besen Family Foundation
