EVER

Phillip Adams BalletLab is partnering with Melbourne Chamber Orchestra to make EVER, a new, dynamic, synergistic full-length dance and live music performance presented to the iconic masterworks, John Adams’ Shaker Loops (1978) and Richard Strauss’ Metamorphosen (1945), arguably two of the most important septets of the last 100 years.

EVER is a continuum of loops; an everlasting cycle, and oscillation of choreographic waves investigating themes of permutation, transformation and the infinite. This significant new co-production will be performed live onstage by Melbourne’s finest professional chamber musicians the Australian Octet, led by internationally renowned violinist, William Hennessey alongside five of Australia’s most extraordinary contemporary dancers.

EVER is also a collaboration with renowned Australian fashion designer, Akira Isogawa, awarded contemporary architects, Room 11 and multi-award winning lighting designer of theatre and stage,Benjamin Cisterne.  

EVER will premiere in 2017 (TBC) and tour nationally and internationally from 2018.  Our next development will be in November/December 2016 at Temperance Hall.
